Comment on: No Ugly Travel Clothes!

What does it say about me if I take both Crocs and Sofft flip flops when I travel? I love both brands. Yes, Crocs are ugly and make your feet look like boats, but you can't beat 'em at the beach or when hoofing it around Disney World.

And Sofft shoes....aaah. Couldn't live without 'em.

I think I am a foot-fashion disaster!

Thanks for your blog...Melody from CRAVEparty.com recommended it to me today.

Laura Christianson
Co-founder, HeBlogsSheBlogs.com
Taking blogs from 'potential' to 'influential'

Comment on: Walla Walla Winery Wandering...

Thanks for your comment Catie! It does sound like there is plenty to keep the non-wine lover occupied. We really meant that comment more along the lines of "there is a LOT of wine stuff going on here" (which we love).

Comment on: Walla Walla Winery Wandering...

>>"Be forewarned, if you are not a fan of wineries, this is definitely not the destination for you."

Sorry, but I couldn't help taking exception to this comment that appeared on the "Walla-Walla-Winery-Getaway" page. Even if you are not a fan of wineries there is still lots for the non-wine person to do. In the summer, there is a wonderful open air farmer's market. Lots of bike and hiking trails, golf courses, birding, great downtown shopping featuring unique shops and art galleries. Unique sculptures line the Main Street as well as in our many local parks and three college campuses. In fact, there are 17 local parks as well as the Fort Walla Walla Museum and also the Whitman Monument/Museum. Also, the Carnegie Art Center, Children's Museum, Kirkman House Museum, Orchidaceae (for the orchid collectors), several local theatres featuring live productions. Walla Walla is the home to the oldest symphony this side of the Mississippi. And if that isn't enough, we also have our annual Hot Air Balloon Stampede, Walla Walla County Fair, Macy's Christmas Light parade and other festivals throughout the year.

So perhaps your readers
should know that even if they are not fans of wineries, that Walla Walla is still a destination for the non-wine lover.
Comment on: Wear-It-To-Travel Wednesday - Gisele Bundchen

If she were a foot shorter and wore a hat I might mistake her for a Mrs. Samantha Lohan - it's kind of creepy - http://www.buzzfoto.com/wp-content/gallery/080310wel_samantharonson_buzzfoto/080310WEL_SamanthaRonson_007.jpg - if I had to pick btwn the two I think I'd stick with Gisele. :-)

Check out a version of Chocolate treatment at the Hummingbird Skin Care Spa in Washington DC: http://www.hummingbirdspa.com/specials.shtml.
Better yet, the champagne or the combination of champagne and chocolate. Now we are talking!

On the second thought, champagne and chocolate? Sounds like Friday night at my place. May be I should add a masseure to this ritual... hmmm... why didn't I think of it before?

That's actually a good point and a great idea. It's almost guaranteed that someone will arrive late. No point making her feel like she's left out or forgotten. And in the end if everyone is thrilled to see her it adds an added punch to her day :)

Comment on: Catherinette Is Sharing! Girlfriend Getaway to NYC!

Somehow I came across this old posting and laughed myself off the bed. This is hilarious. And what's worse, I can see myself doing just the very same thing. I can be such a Muffy.

BTW, I am still laughing and typing at the same time. My poor friend just woke up and is looking at me as if I lost all my marbles. I think he is secretly trying to figure out an excuse to run out in the middle of the night.

Cashmere slippers sure sound good... Forget the flight, I will wear them at home.

I swear by a jewelry roll. Someone gave it to me as a Christmas present a few years back and I used it ever since, sometimes just for an overnight stay if I plan to wear something different the day after. You know, one mustn't be caught wearing mismatched jewelry, if you know what i mean ;). And a roll is much easier to pack that those leather mini-cases from Coach.

Comment on: Top 10 Reasons To Ignore That "Staycation" Nonsense

OK, this is a cause I can totally support. The whole thing about staycations is just an overhypped concept created by the media.

Bunch of my friends tried this staycation thing and ended up spending just as much if not more. Air travel is a drag nowdays, true, but a plane ticket cost is still reasonable. A couple of nights in a local nice hotel would cost just as much. We wouldn't stay in a dump, would we?

I like my long weekends, don't take me wrong. Going for a night on a town, staying a night in a hotel downtown, getting a spa treatment next morning and doing some shopping, all along sharing with a couple of girlfriends, yes, it has always been an option. I just know I deserve a vacation, and dang it, I am taking it!
