Park City Ski Getaway

Park City is neither a Park, nor a City:  Discuss.

That joke never gets old!

You know what else never gets old?  A fun ski weekend with your girlfriends.

The Park City Ski Getaway includes:
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Round-trip transportation between airport and hotel
  • Mountain lift-tickets

(For all other Optional activities on this Girlfriend Getaway, please click the "Activities" tab.  Optional activities may be substituted for "included" activities - prices may vary.)

Holiday Golightly does not "do" air.  Booking flights is an impossible, thankless task, and we are all about being thanked.  We recommend Kayak.com, and the destination airport code is SLC (you fly into Salt Lake City).  You're welcome!

Vail Ski Getaway

Take a deep breath.  Then wait a few moments before you try to exert yourself.  Unless you're living at elevation, Vail will take a few hours to adjust to.  The picturesque ski town sits at 8120.  But the adjusting is absolutely worth it, as Vail is an unbelievable ski destination.  Acres of sweeping ski runs, crystal clear mountain air, a charming mountain village, and from what we've seen, all of the unbelievably attractive men who are absent from wherever you live.

Top 10 Best Things About A Ski Weekend

Hey, remember when the weather forecasts said stuff like "Sunny and 85 today"?  Yeahhhh, it's colder now.  Rather than complaining about the dropping temperatures outside, think of a way to enjoy them.  Ski trip!

Holiday Golightly's Top 10 Best Things About A Ski Weekend

1)  Schussss! - We love that awesome sound that comes from carving your way down the slopes.  Schusss, schussss, sch -OUCH, clank, bonk, thud.  Heavy sigh.  I'm okay!

2)  Fluffy snow - this is particularly exciting if you live somewhere that rarely sees snow.  You know, somewhere where everyone freaks out if there are 2 inches of snow on the ground, and everyone forgets how to drive, and they don't have the proper equipment to clear the roads, so there are a lot of resulting traffic accidents.  It's tougher to really enjoy the snow in those places.

3)  Taking in the quiet scenery from the chair lift - shhhhh.  Not schussssss.

4)  Midday lunch break - Cheeseburger & fries.  WHAT?!  We're skiing?!  When else can you feel absolutely no guilt about cheeseburger and fries for lunch?

5) All-day exercise, disguised as fun - see #1 and #4.

6)  Hot chocolate

7)  Hot chocolate with Kaluha

8)  Dressing in layers - you don't even need to bother trying to look thin.

9)  Hot tub - you will need to bother trying to look thin.  Unless you've had several #7s.  And then, who cares!

10)  Ski instructors -um, Travis?  I didn't really get that last move.  Could you show me again, and this time hold me while you're doing it?

The "Bachelors" Are Here To Start Your Weekend Off Right

It's the season of giving, so we thought we'd offer up a little gift exchange of our own this weekend.  If you give the highest donation to First Descents, they'll give YOU a day of skiing with Cosmopolitan Magazine's Most Eligible Bachelor Brad Ludden, "The Bachelor" Ryan Sutter & US Ski Team Hall of Famer Mike Friedberg.

US Ski Team

Sure, paying for access to hot guys might normally be construed as desperate, but this is CHARITY!  First Descents' "Ski With the Bachelors" program is being held to fund their 2009 First Descents programs, which provide whitewater kayaking and outdoor experiences to promote emotional, psychological, and physical healing for young adults with cancer.

Holiday Golightly will provide all the planning and coordination for the trip to Vail (although winners are responsible for the costs of travel & lodging).

SO HURRY UP!  You must donate by December 21st for a chance to win.  Click here.

We think this opportunity is worthy of TWO shirtless men.  Meet Brad & Ryan...

Mid-Winter Energy Boost

It's natural!  It's fresh!  And no, it's not some new energy drink from the back of US Weekly...   It's a weekend trip to Vail!

Holiday Golightly is here right now, participating in the "adult spring break" which is Presidents' Day Weekend here in the Male Valley (oops, did I say that out loud?  I mean Vail Valley...)

Yes, the male-female ratio in Vail is legendary - and we can tell you from personal experience (ok, not THAT personal) that the rumors are true.  The mountain and the town are running amok with athletic, energetic men with flushed cheeks from the fresh mountain air (or, wait, is it maybe the beer?).   Don't worry married ladies, you're just LOOKING...

And of course, a ski weekend is not JUST about the men.  Or so they tell me...  The snow is great right now - a fresh dumping provided fresh powder Sunday and the lift lines were moving fast.  (See, there are SOME benefits to a terrible economy).  And town is stock full of great restaurants, cute shops, and spa opportunities.  Holiday Golightly has scouted out the best of them (we know, it's a tough job ... but as they say, somebody's gotta do it).

Let us help you plan a getaway to boost you out of those mid-winter blues!
