My friend Tamara asked me to join her for a week in Italy, to which I very happily obliged (of course). So, we bought our tickets, but then came to a sticking point. We couldn't really agree on what to do (I always default to yoga retreats, she wanted to go to the zoo. Yes, the zoo.). We were seriously stuck. And we were both overwhelmed with work, family stuff and the list goes on. Some stroke of luck led me to the travel-planning geniuses at Holiday Golightly. They made the trip remarkable - and fun - for both of us, all within a reasonable budget. We stayed in beautiful and quirky hotels, shared exclusive experiences and met fascinating people along the way. Planning a trip with friends can cause some anxiety, especially when there are a lot of moving pieces, people and of course personalities.

Our group of 5 had diverse interests – shopping, exercise and sightseeing yet we all wanted to have a relaxing spa experience. Kerry (Holiday Golightly) did a great job organizing a recent trip to Sante Fe.Our accommodations were inviting and very comfortable. We got to sample some wonderful southwestern cuisine at an insider’s local restaurant. The spa recommendation was right on target with what my friends wanted as well.

Organizing each of these details takes both time and knowledge and it was great to have it taken care of for our group. We had a memorable weekend.

Holiday Golightly planned a terrific trip to Europe for a girlfriend's wedding. There was a large group of us that hung out in Seattle and when one of us met a guy, fell in love and moved to England - we all decided that we had to go along. Because it was Europe, in the end only 5 of us girlfriends ended up being able to go. The entire flight to Europe and back, all the hotels, arrangements, and transfers were handled by Holiday Golightly. We even decided to make the trip more complex and even more fun by traveling from England to the Canary Islands. Now, I am a bit of a control freak, but I had nothing to do with any of the arrangements except paying for my share, and it was one of the best trips I took. It was so easy. I could just concentrate on hanging out with my friends instead of worrying about whether the arrangements would be satisfactory. Holiday Golightly knows the preferences of the people who were traveling and found us a great hotel in Southampton for the bachelorette party and a great hotel on two different Canary Islands. We had a schedule for all the trains and the numbers for the taxis that we would need. Except for a helicopter I think we took every form of transportation to get to all of our destinations and Holiday Golightly took care of the flights, trains, buses, hired van, and ferries that we needed. We were given very extensive itinerary materials detailing all of our plans and contact information. Nothing was left to chance. We were even given information about the local culture, so we knew that we were going to the islands known for their wine and goat cheese. Talk about a group favorite. I would recommend leaving your travel plans in Holiday Golightly's very capable hands.

I recently went with 5 girlfriends on a HGL-planned trip to Walla Walla. It was, by far, the most relaxing weekend away I’ve had in a long, long, long time, mostly thanks to the fact that my sole responsibility was showing up! We stayed in a darling house (complete with beach cruisers to ride around town!), had a well planned (but not OVERplanned) wine tasting tour and lots of other fun activities I never would have found or sought out on my own. A couple of us did morning yoga at a studio that was in our information packet. And we had dinner at the hottest new restaurant in town. When people asked us where we had dinner and we told them, the next question was inevitably, “How did you get in!?” which made us feel verrry fancy!

Not only has Holiday Golightly planned several fabulous trip for me and my friends, they have also introduced Divvy It Up. For those not familiar with Divvy It Up, it is an easy to use program that allows everyone to enter their receipts after the vacation to “divvy up” who owes what.
During our last trip we took turn "picking up the check” and after the trip we all entered our receipts (dinner, gas, etc)into Divvy It Up. The program automatically divides the receipt evenly or will allow you to break it down per person so the person that only had a salad doesn’t have to pay the same as the martini swilling, steak-eater.
Once everyone entered their receipts we received an email letting up know who owed what. After simple paypal transactions, all debts were settled up. I can’t begin to tell you how much stress this removed from a trip. It was simple to use, does the math for you and saves you from that awkward, “you still owe me” conversation.
